up early, class all day, felt like summer a few days ago, now its cold and rainy.
thus, wings and beer.
downtown providence is home to a fun and famous local spot called cuban revolution. after a long day, cuban revolution is a relaxing and interesting place to unwind. especially with the daily specials of .20 cent wings and $2-$3 dollar beers. i had half original, half hot. these wings are always satisfying. big, juicy, and delicious, accompanied with their creamy bleu cheese (and i'm usually not a bleu cheese fan) and a cold beer.
she had a dish we've both been wanting to test, and it definitely passed. the crab bisque with cuban toast on the side. creamy, cheesy, delicious crab meat without being to fishy or tasting cheap. extremely satisfied.
and to top it off, a side of cuban's famous "che fries." sweet potato fries seasoned with adobo. this place has got a lot to offer, and at a friendly price. not to mention, the art hanging around the joint is quite a pleasure to look at. you can find more about cuban revolution here.

dumb thirsty.
in follow up of my wonderful birthday dinner, i met some new and old friends at trinity brewhouse, a fun and eclectic bar scene just one block up from bravo brassiere. i was feeling happy and full but wanted a nice beer or two for dessert.
i was first greeted with a bruins brown ale. almost tasted like a lighter guinness, but with a light toffee and fruity taste. it was delicious. i followed up with a tommy's red which was definitely the highlight beverage of the night. fresh hop taste, just go try one for yourself.
i sat downstairs, its dim and relaxed, service could've been a little happier. but nothing could have brought my night down last night. my company chose a kolsch german beer, and raspberry ale, both delicious to the last sip. looking forward to starting a night out at trinity with a few tasteful beers.

dinner for two.
for a birthday celebration, i ventured downtown providence to have a dinner for two at bravo brassiere. bravo hosts a monday night dinner special including two salads, two entrees, bread, and a bottle of wine all for around $35.00 after tax. this restaurant is classy and upscale, while staying cozy and not overwhelming at all. the food...is spectacular.
i had a caesar salad, followed by the chicken du jour. she had a bravo salad and the grilled salmon filet. everything was perfect. i mean everything. the food, the crowd, the setting, the service.
check out bravo's website here where you can score a $40.00 gift card for $20.00. for the quality of dining here, they offer some great deals. looking forward to coming back very soon to try some great sounding appetizers and another bottle of chardonnay.
